Publication of spend over £25,000

As part of the government’s commitment to improve the transparency of how public funds are used, central government is required to publish all expenditure over £25,000. HM Treasury has confirmed this requirement applies to all NHS bodies and as such the Trust must publish all expenditure invoices over £25,000 from 1st April 2010 to 30th September 2010, by 31st October 2010. Publication will then continue on a monthly basis, on the 15th working day of each month.

Salary payments to staff are excluded from the scope of these disclosures, as are any invoices that are protected under the Data Protection Act.

A single invoice may be coded to multiple expenses areas and therefore an invoice amount that appears against an expense area may be below £25,000. Recoverable VAT has been excluded from publication.

As well as publishing this information on the Trust’s internet site this information is also published on the HM Government website: http://data.gov.uk
