International diabetes study is urging Coventry people to take part

11:30 21/06/2012

A new international study on a diabetes drug is still recruiting in Coventry.

People from Coventry who are 18 years old or above and have Type 2 diabetes are being asked to consider taking part in the prestigious study.

Even though it is international, treatment and details would take place at the WISDEM centre at University Hospital in Coventry and reasonable travel costs could be reimbursed.

Participants would have to be monitored for up to seven years. Sundeep Due, Diabetes and Metabolism Research Nurse at the Trust said: “Research is vital for us to help improve care for patients in the future.

“There are still places left on this international study and I would ask anyone interested in taking part to contact us.

If anyone would like more information about the trial they should contact Gail Evans, Diabetes Research Nurse, on 02476 964693.
