Research
Welcome to the Research & Development department at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW). We hope to give you an overview of the research we do in the Trust and to provide help and contacts for potential researchers.
University Hospital, Coventry was completed in 2006. Our major research partner is the University of Warwick and we share our research themes with Warwick Medical School. We also work closely with the University of Coventry and other academic and industry research partners. The CLRN for West Midlands (South) is hosted and located at University Hospital.
Our current major research themes are:
- Metabolic medicine
- Reproduction
- Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics
- Cancer (including Ear Nose and Throat)
These are complemented by additional areas of clinical research activity within the Trust (e.g. cardiovascular disease, renal and respiratory medicine).
“Research is an integral component of clinical excellence, improving the quality of care delivered to our patients.”
Chris Imray, Director of Research and Development
