Welcome to the Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) department at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW). We hope to give you an overview of the research and innovation activities ongoing in the Trust and provide help and contacts for patients, researchers and collaborators.

Our major research partner is the University of Warwick and we share our research themes with Warwick Medical School. We also work closely with the University of Coventry and other academic and industry research partners.

Our current major research themes are:
• Metabolic and vascular medicine
• Reproductive health
• Musculoskeletal, Trauma and Orthopedics
• Cancer

These are complemented by additional areas of clinical research activity within the Trust (e.g. cardiovascular disease, renal and respiratory medicine).

“Research is an integral component of clinical excellence, improving the quality of care delivered to our patients.”

Chris Imray, Director of Research and Development
