The BAM patient support group has been running since May 2013. Since then numbers have grown and patients say they really benefit from meeting up with people who have a similar condition and where they are able to share their experiences. The group treats each other respect and will always keep your information confidential.
One of the key aims from each meeting, aside from supporting patients, is developing the service that is currently available for them and improving it. We welcome your feedback and value the information you share with us.
We have been able to provide toilet cards for patients and also have information about obtaining disabled toilet keys which many suffers have found handy in certain situations.
The group welcomes new members and their partners (who may also have the condition) as we are keen for the group to expand and to provide for thos people that need it most and we will work with you to help anyway we can.
Discussions are taking place to see how we can improve knowledge about the condition and treatment options to health care professionals and we are informing GPs of our group.
If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the next meeting please email chairman@bamsupportuk.org and this can be arranged.
The meetings take place at 5.30pm-7.30pm in the Clinical Sciences Building (CSB) at University Hospital, Coventry. Refreshments will not be provided, so please bring a drink. The next meeting dates are:
