Filming at UHCW

Filming or photography must not interfere with our ability to deliver care or run our services. Patient and staff safety is our priority at all times.

All requests for location filming should be directed to the Communications Team who will liaise with the relevant individuals to decide whether to proceed. For filming requests, we kindly ask for a minimum of three weeks notice.

Each request will be considered on a case by case basis. If approved, the Communications Team will arrange agreements and logistics with the production company and departments concerned.

A member of the Communications Team will be present to oversee the filming/photography.

Filming or photography should not be carried out in or around our sites without the express permission of the Communications Team. Anyone found filming or taking photographs without permission will be asked to leave the site immediately. If a patient is under the age of 16, a parent or guardian must give written consent.

Film crews must vacate the area if reasonably requested to do so by a senior member of staff. If requested by the Trust, the company must show the final version of the film before broadcasting to ensure content is appropriate and matters of confidentiality are not breached. No information identifying or relating to patients should be filmed without prior consent.

The film may be used only for the purpose identified in the application.

For the control of infection, we kindly ask all film crews to respect Trust guidelines. Filming crews and staff being filmed should be bare below the areas when in a clinical setting. This means the removal of watches, fitbits, nail varnish, stoned rings, long sleeves (including formal jackets), etc.

Laminated ‘filming in progress’ signs should be displayed in all areas where cameras are in operation.
