Media Enquiries

The Communications Team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust provides support to colleagues, the public and media to better understand what is going on across our Trust.

We aim to respond positively, openly and promptly to all reasonable requests, but during periods of operational pressure this can take longer. As a working hospital, we are limited in our ability to meet short-notice requests.

Please note that interviews, filming or photography on site will require permission from the Communications team.

All media enquires should be directed to the Communications Team, either by email or phone.

Email: communications@uhcw.nhs.uk

Telephone: 02476 965058/02476 967597

We are open from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

For urgent enquiries outside of these hours, contact the hospital switchboard on 02476 964000 and ask for the executive on call.

Condition checks will only be given out if you have at least the name, date of birth and the address of the patient and in cases where names have been officially released (e.g. by the Police).

We reserve the right to decline comment on any condition check if we wish so in respect of patient confidentiality.

Should a local, regional or national major incident occur, the Trust has contingency plans that include arrangements for the media. A press centre will be established and the media will be notified on arrival at the hospital site. The press centre will be set up for press conferences and regular updates you will be provided alongside any opportunities for interviews (when appropriate).

Depending on the type of incident, we will decide at the time whether photographs/filming will be permitted and how this will be facilitated.

We will also utilise this website and our Twitter account (@nhsuhcw) to provide the latest updates.
