Sat Nav postcode: CV2 2DX
Due to the demand for spaces in our car parks being high during peak times, we recommend that you arrive with plenty of time before your appointment to find a parking space or consider using public transport where possible.
There are drop-off points near the main hospital entrance and the Women and Children’s entrance which allow for 10 minutes of free parking. Disabled car parking facilities are also available, and are located near the main hospital entrance. When parking, please find a space within the marked bays rather than parking on any pavements or verges.
Blue badge holders attending hospital as a patient or visitor should present their blue badge and registration details to our security officers to register their vehicle as being able to park for free.
Alternatively, you can send your vehicle registration and a photo/scan of your blue badge (please ensure the name and expiry date are clearly visible) to visitor.parking@uk.issworld.com.
This registration will remain in place for the duration of the badge’s licencing period. Blue badges belong to the person and are not registered to a vehicle so, if a blue badge holder attends hospital in a different vehicle, they would need to register that vehicle by following the processes outlined above.
Frequent outpatient attenders (those who attend hospital for an appointment at least three times within a month and for an overall period of at least three months) are also provided with free parking. If you think this is you, click here for details.
If you are on a low income you may be eligible for free hospital car parking. Subsidised parking remains in place for Oncology (cancer) patients attending for outpatient intravenous chemotherapy/radiotherapy treatment; renal dialysis patients; parents who stay in hospital overnight to accompany their sick children and those collecting paperwork relating to a bereavement, click here for details.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is live across all University Hospital Coventry public car parks. Our car parks no longer issue tickets at barriers and instead read your number plate as your vehicle enters. If you have any queries about of car parks or how to park, please talk to our car park staff.
Payment can be made using cash, card or contactless at one of the payment machines before exiting the car park. You must enter your full, correct registration in order to pay - we recommend taking a photo or writing it down before leaving your vehicle as you arrive.
You can also pay using PayByPhone via their website or downloadable app. Payment for total stay can be made at any time until midnight on the day of parking.

University Hospital was one of the first in the country to introduce a new wheelchair-sharing system.
Eight wheelchairs, free to use for up to 12 hours, are available via a user-friendly station located underneath the ramp to the Emergency Department.
Backed by a 24/7 helpline and on-site maintenance support, the system works in a similar way to hire bikes.
Users need to swipe a debit or credit card to release a chair (no fees are charged) and must return them correctly so they are available for other users.
Each additional hour or part of it after the 12-hour period costs £1. The scheme aims to ensure the wheelchairs are always in the right places at the right time.
The system was created by health-tech company Wheelshare, with the wheelchairs donated by a grateful Coventry family through the UHCW Charity.
For more information on Wheelshare at University Hospital, please refer to the user manual or frequently asked questions.
The Wheelshare support centre, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, is available by telephoning 01747 440916.
