The Communications Team are responsible for media relations on behalf of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

During office hours, all media enquiries should be directed to the Communications Team on 024 7696 7596 or 024 7696 7617 where they will be dealt with appropriately. This is particularly important in ensuring that information given about University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is accurate, consistent and up to date.

Out-of-hours and weekends

Outside office hours URGENT enquiries only should be directed to the hospital switchboard on 024 7696 4000 and ask for the executive on call. For non urgent enquiries please contact the Communications Team during office hours, or email a member of the Communications Team.

Condition checks

Patient condition checks should be referred to the Communications Team during office hours on 024 7696 7596. Please note that with requests for patient information, the Press Office first needs to seek consent from the patient/relatives. Without consent, no patient information can be disclosed.

The patient or next of kin will also need to consent to information being released.

Please do not contact the wards direct.

Only a brief indication of the condition of the patient will be given, such as the patient is stable or comfortable or critically ill.

Photography and filming requests

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust receive many requests for photographic and filming opportunities, including documentary and location filming. All proposals will be considered and accommodated where possible or appropriate, however requests to film in our Emergency Department are not normally agreed. Proposals for photography/filming can be emailed to the Communications Team. Please ensure a minimum of 24 hours notice.

There is no charge for filming a news or health promotion piece within our hospitals, however we do charge facility fees for other photography or filming. Please contact the Communications Team for details of our facility charges.
