Our Clinical Delivery Teams

Our research Nurses, Midwives, Research Practitioners and all our clinical delivery staff play a vital role in delivering high quality research to improve patient care.

UHCW NHS Trust Research & Development employs over 78 clinical research delivery staff, who support over 300 research studies. They are located across the hospital, with some in dedicated Patient Research Interface (PRI) Suites.

Our Clinical Research Delivery teams are dedicated and passionate about offering patients the opportunity to participate in high quality research studies at UHCW. Their roles vary day-to-day, but will include identifying, screening and speaking to potential patients about taking part in research studies they may be eligible for, and answering any questions so that they can make fully informed decisions. Performing research specific activities, including but not limited to, handling and processing research samples and ensuring patient safety and Good Clinical Practice guidelines are adhered to. They also work with Principal Investigators (PI) to coordinate the efficient running of research studies, including accurate data collection, ongoing support for patients throughout the study, and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
