To prospectively capture clinical/laboratory data from the UHCW post-Covid-19 clinical pathway in order to characterize the residual problems and relevant healthcare needs of patients that recovered from Covid-19.
Observational study
Endocrinology; Multi-disciplinary
Minimum 100 patients that recovered from acute Covid-19
Patients who recover from acute Covid-19 may exhibit various residual problems and/or exacerbation of underlying comorbidities, thus requiring further support and follow-up. UHCW NHS Trust has introduced a multidisciplinary clinical pathway for the prospective follow-up of patients that recover from Covid-19. Each patient within this multidisciplinary care pathway undergoes clinical and laboratory examinations at each follow-up time-point as clinically required. As such, the primary objective of this study is to systematically capture all clinical outcome data and lab results from this clinical pathway in order to comprehensively characterise the residual problems and relevant healthcare needs of these patients, as well as to perform additional analyses which may help to better understand pathophysiological changes in these patients post-Covid-19. This 'real-world' research approach is expected to allow us to systematically identify and characterize the residual problems and long-term impact of Covid-19 in our local population in order to better inform the relevant evidence-based recommendations for patients that recover from acute Covid-19.
