Our community midwives play a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to expectant mothers and their families within their local communities.
They offer personalised care and support throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods, ensuring that women receive comprehensive guidance and assistance during pregnancy, childbirth and the early stages of motherhood.
Community midwives conduct regular check-ups, monitor the health of both mother and baby, provide education on pre-natal and post-natal care and offer emotional support to alleviate anxieties and address any concerns.
Their role extends beyond medical assistance to encompass advocacy, empowering women to make informed decisions about their health and childbirth experiences. By delivering compassionate and holistic care, community midwives contribute significantly to promoting positive birth outcomes and fostering the wellbeing of families within their communities.
You will be assigned to a designated team of community midwives who will oversee your care and provide you with regular appointments from your GP surgery.
