Annelie, Beverley and Joanna call it a day after a combined 115 years at UHCW

Staff gathered to wish Senior Biomedical Scientists Annelie Jones, Beverley Robson and Joanna Davis farewell after a combined 115 years at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW).

Joanna Davis started work at the trust in 1980 as trainee, progressing to a Biomedical Scientist. By the end of her career she’d achieved the role of Senior Biomedical Scientist.

She said: “I have really enjoyed my time here. I feel privileged to work in my chosen profession. We have always worked together as a team to put the patient first.”

“Many people criticise the NHS, but there have been many times that I have felt very proud to be part of it.”

Annelie started in 1979 working for the Trust for 38 years and Beverley started in 1977 and worked for 40 years.

Annelie said: “I have great memories of the past. I have worked with many dedicated and talented professionals and we have achieved great things. One of my favourite memories was starting work in our new hospital.”

Beverly commented: “It’s never been dull working in Pathology, everyday there is something new to learn, even on my last day I’m still learning!”
