Children’s Emergency Department at University Hospital set to reopen to walk-ins via the main entrance located adjacent to the main Emergency Department

Please be advised, as from 8.00am on Wednesday 13th September the entrance to the Children's Emergency Department (CED) at University Hospital, Coventry, will reopen to walk-ins via its original entrance located adjacent to the main Emergency Department.

As part of the Emergency Department Expansion project to redevelop the CED, the temporary diversion currently in place which only allows patients and visitors attending CED to access via the Women’s and Children’s entrance and the hospital’s main entrance, will end on Wednesday morning.

Signage will be in place to remind patients and visitors attending CED to access via the main Emergency Department.

Please be reminded that staff are working hard to minimise any disruptions. We have a zero-tolerance approach to violence and aggression, and we urge people to treat staff and patients with respect and kindness at all times to enable our teams to continue to give care to those who need it most.
