1 April 2022
From today (Friday 1st April 2022), Coventry Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) has become part of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust’s emergency care service.
The transfer of services brings all urgent and emergency care in the Coventry area under the responsibility of the Trust.
Located in the City of Coventry NHS Healthcare Centre on Stoney Stanton Road (CV1 4FS), the UTC provides high quality patient care for minor injuries/illnesses from 8am until 10pm daily.
The centre, available to people of all ages for walk-ins and appointments, provides treatment for a wide range of illnesses and injuries such as headaches and tummy aches, small wounds, sickness and diarrhoea, bites/stings, sports injuries, minor burns and strains, skin conditions and ear/throat infections.
It is operated by urgent care practitioners including GPs, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists.
Ed Hartley, Clinical Director and Consultant for Emergency Medicine at UHCW NHS Trust, said: “Patients using Coventry UTC will be able to access the highest standard of care from our experienced team.
“Our aim, by expanding the provision of urgent care offered to communities across the city, is to further improve the patient experience and help ensure you are able to receive the right care in the right place at the right time.”
When seeking care at Coventry UTC, please check-in at the Coventry UTC reception on the first floor of the Coventry NHS Healthcare Centre or book an appointment with the UTC team by calling NHS 111.

Please ensure you have a current blood test request form, if not please contact your hospital consultant or GP and they will post one to you. Unfortunately, your blood test will need to be rescheduled if you do not have a blood test request form when you come to a Blood Test clinic.
All blood tests are by appointment, please book an appointment using the Book Online button below.
If you have an appointment and cannot attend, please remember to cancel or reschedule your appointment so that someone else can use the time slot that you no longer need.
If you cannot book an appointment online, family and friends may be able to help – you can book appointments for more than one person from one account. Booking online is the quickest way to make an appointment.
If this is not possible, there is a telephone line for those who cannot book online. Please call 02476 153546 between 8am and 1pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
