Critical Incident Stood Down
10 September 2026
Following significant work across our hospitals and services, the exceptional pressures we have been experiencing have now eased.
Our services remain very busy, particularly in our Emergency Department and across our wards, and our teams continue to work hard to ensure patients receive safe and timely care.
You can continue to support us by only using the Emergency Department for life-threatening emergencies. For other urgent health concerns, please use NHS 111 online or by phone, which can help direct you to the most appropriate service.
We’re incredibly grateful to our communities for their patience, understanding and support over the past few days.
We also want to say a huge thank you to colleagues across UHCW, whose commitment, teamwork and response during this period of exceptional pressure has been outstanding.
We apologise to anyone whose care or experience has been affected and thank you for continuing to support our teams.
