Entry shortlisted for Royal College of Midwives Award

An entry from members of our maternity department has been shortlisted in the 2021 Royal College of Midwives Awards.

The nomination is in the running to win the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Excellence in Perinatal Mental Health category.

It highlights the work of our Complex Continuity Team in caring for women with perinatal mental illness or existing mental illness during the perinatal period.

The team includes Alaine Holland, Sophie Elliot and Ilaria Harrison, who is training as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for mental health and studying for a Masters in perinatal mental health.

Ilaria said: “It is an incredible honour to have been shortlisted and to have our dedication to improving perinatal mental health services recognised.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Wednesday 27th October.
