Gabi calls time after over 30 years

Last month, colleagues and friends from University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust said farewell to Gabi Dhaliwal, who has been a midwife with the Trust for 32 years.

Gabi started as a nurse in 1983 before qualifying as a midwife in 1984. She has worked in all aspects of midwifery but has mostly dedicated her career to work in the community, working with mothers in Foleshill.

This has included presenting at a range of parent craft classes which have helped new mums to prepare for motherhood.

Gabi, who is planning to go on a cruise, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my time in the hospital and in the community.

“I have loved the diversity of the women in the Foleshill community and I have really enjoyed working with them.

“I am looking forward to spending more time with my family.”

Lisa Maycock, Modern Matron for Community and Antenatal Midwifery, said: “Gabi has always been a valued member of the team with an abundance of knowledge and experience built over a fantastic career.”
