ICT achieves international quality standard

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department has achieved an accreditation from an international body for its Quality Management System.

The department has achieved ISO 9001 accreditation, an international standard for quality and one of the most widely recognised standards in the world.

It took a year to gain the accreditation and the team underwent a series of audits by an independent assessor to achieve it.

ICT Business and Quality Manager, Richard Peacock said: “We are really pleased to gain this accreditation following a year of hard work by the team.”

“We must now continue to deliver the high standard of work that has seen us gain the accreditation, always seek to improve our customer satisfaction and the quality of the service we provide.”

Chief Workforce and Information Officer, Karen Martin said: “Gaining this accreditation is a fantastic achievement for ICT and we look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength over the next few years.”

The accreditation lasts for three years and the department will undergo audits on a regular basis to make sure that they are maintaining the standard and are continually improving the way they work.
