New car parking charges due to come into effect across UHCW NHS Trust

New car parking charges are set to come into effect at University Hospital, Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.

All car parking at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust forms part of a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract and as a result the Trust does not generate any car park revenue directly from either staff or visitors.

From April 1, 2022, costs will be as follows:

University Hospital, Coventry

Up to 10 minutes


Up to one hour


Up to two hours


Up to three hours


Up to four hours


Up to five hours


Up to six hours


Up to 24 hours



Hospital of St Cross, Rugby

Up to 30 minutes


Up to three hours


Up to five hours


Up to 24 hours



We will continue to support patients wherever we can, with free parking remaining in place for the following groups:


  • Oncology (cancer) patients attending for outpatient intravenous chemotherapy / radiotherapy treatment
  • Renal dialysis patients
  • Parents of sick children (who stay in hospital overnight to accompany their sick children)
  • Those collecting paperwork related to a bereavement
  • Blue Badge holders
  • Frequent Outpatient visitors
