K2 Maternity System, an electronic maternity health record for all clinical documentation, is launching at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust on 1st December 2020.
The system will replace the traditional paper pregnancy notes in line with national guidance and aims to enhance care and communication for women.
K2 Maternity System will track each stage of a woman’s pregnancy electronically and will provide one single source of accurate information. Women that are currently going through their pregnancy journey and using paper notes will move over to the electronic system in due course, depending on the stage of their pregnancy.
Users of the system will be able to access their notes electronically through a web browser called ‘My Pregnancy Notes’ which will be available on any device with an internet connection including smartphones, desktop computers, laptops or tablets.
Nikki McNulty, Digital Midwife at UHCW, said: “K2 Maternity System will transform the way women track the progress of their pregnancy and it will provide all users with simple, immediate access to the important information they need, when they need it.
“In addition to details about their pregnancy progress, women will be able to access useful pregnancy tips and advice through the system, which will be updated and maintained by the Maternity team at the Trust.
“The overall aim of the system is to enhance documentation and information reporting, increase communication with women, improve overall patient safety and free up clinician’s time so that they can focus on providing high quality patient care.”
Further information on K2 Maternity System will be shared on our social media channels and the dedicated Maternity Facebook page which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/UHCWMaternity
