Public encouraged to consider alternatives to A&E

We are very busy at University Hospital in Coventry, and saw over 600 people in our A&E yesterday.

The public are now being asked to consider alternatives rather than attending A&E.

If you need medical help fast but it’s not life threatening or you’re not sure where to go, please consider accessing GPs, pharmacists, the Walk-in Centre or calling 111.

NHS 111 will assess you and direct you to the best placed service in your area. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
