Rugby hospital looking for new recruits

Hospital of St Cross, RugbyPeople interested in getting the chance to work at one of Rugby’s top employers are being invited to an open day later this month, where they will have the chance to be interviewed on the day if they wish, or to book an interview at a more convenient time another day.

The Hospital of St Cross’ Outpatients Department will host the event on Saturday, January 28, from 10am-2pm.

Potential new recruits will have the chance to speak with current staff and managers about working at the Trust, and to see the facilities available on a hospital tour.

The hospital’s recruitment team will be on hand to give advice on how to find and apply for jobs via the NHS Jobs website, and offer guidance on how to return to nursing or make the switch from community to acute nursing.

There are a wide-range of nursing vacancies, including in the hospital’s six theatres, as well as apprenticeship roles.

Judith Lewis, Modern Matron at the Hospital of St Cross, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for people in Rugby and the surrounding areas to come and find out more about working in their local hospital and I’d fully recommend anyone with an interest to come along and find out more.”

A recent staff survey showed 90% of staff felt mainly good about working at the hospital.

There is also the chance to find out more about volunteering at the hospital through the Friends of St Cross charity.

Refreshments will be available, and there’ll also be free car parking for attendees.
