Silver celebration for long serving staff

UHCW Staff at the Long Service AwardsA special awards event was held at University Hospital on Friday, November 25, to celebrate 1,829 years of service from 72 committed NHS staff.

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust’s annual Long Service Awards recognise staff who have reached 25 years of service in the NHS.

These colleagues started work in the NHS in 1990-91, when the average house price was £55,000, music lovers were listening to Bryan Adam’s (Everything I do) I do it for you, which topped the charts for a record-breaking 16 weeks, and Arnold Schwarzenegger pulled on his leather jacket again for Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

Chief Executive Officer, Andy Hardy and Chairman, Andy Meehan, presented certificates and Debenhams vouchers to members of staff at the event.

Chief Executive Officer Andy Hardy said: “Every year I’m really privileged to present awards to some of our longest serving colleagues, for their years of compassion, loyalty and dedication to our patients and the NHS.

“This year was extra special to me personally, as I also reached 25 years of service in the NHS and I was exceptionally proud to celebrate it with colleagues also reaching the same milestone.”
