Statement from Dame Stella Manzie, Chair and Professor Andy Hardy, Chief Executive at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust:
"We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and extend our sincere condolences to the Royal Family on behalf of everyone at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
“Our thoughts are with the Royal Family as the country mourns the loss of an inspirational figure who led a life of committed and compassionate leadership. Her loss will be a source of deep mourning to her immediate family as well as being felt by all who have admired her across the world.
“It continues to be one of the proudest moments in NHS history when earlier this year the Queen recognised the amazing efforts of NHS workers during the pandemic by awarding the George Cross to the NHS earlier this year.
“Her Majesty led a life of selfless leadership for our country for seven decades and her reign embodied all the greatest qualities of public service.”
