Trust to work with new provider of Outpatient Pharmacy services at University Hospital and Hospital of St Cross

The Trust is delighted to be launching a new partnership that will see SWFT Clinical Services Ltd (SWFT CS) take on the running of our Outpatient pharmacies.

From Monday 3rd March, the LloydsPharmacy Healthcare outlets at University Hospital, Coventry, and Hospital of St Cross in Rugby – will move over to the new provider.

We will be working closely with SWFT CS over the coming months and years to enhance the patient experience, reduce waiting times and ensure processes are more efficient for everyone who relies on our Outpatient pharmacy services.

Matthew Prior, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) Deputy Director of Pharmacy, said: “We are thrilled to be joining forces with SWFT CS.

“SWFT CS are a local provider who are dedicated to providing patients with the best possible service and that aligns with the aims of everyone at UHCW.”

Opening hours will remain the same – 9am-5pm Monday to Friday at Hospital of St Cross and 8.30am-6pm weekdays at University Hospital, plus 9am-1pm on Saturday.

The Trust has been working with SWFT CS to ensure a smooth transition but we would ask for patience and understanding during this initial period.

SWFT CS are an external provider within the NHS, specialising in the operation of Outpatient Pharmacy services at neighbouring Trusts including George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. SWFT CS is an established wholly owned subsidiary of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.

Ross Mould, Director of Clinical Operations at SWFT CS, said: “This is a proud moment for us to be teaming up with UHCW.

“SWFT CS is part of the NHS family and reinvests all profits back into the business or donates to charitable organisations.

“While people will see minimal change initially, we have long-term plans to enhance the service to offer a better experience for all patients.”
