Trust welcomes Dr Ruth May for World Pressure Ulcer Prevention Day

Ruth May with UHCW Tissue Viability Team - University Hospital Coventry

Last Thursday (November 23, 2015) University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust welcomed Dr Ruth May, Nursing Director at health regulator Monitor, to the Trust as part of World Pressure Ulcer Prevention Day.

Ruth met with Chief Nursing Officer Mark Radford and members of the Trust’s Tissue Viability team to discuss the team’s innovative work to prevent pressure ulcers.

As part of the day, the team set up a living installation (patient and staff volunteers demonstrating possible causes of the painful sores) in the Outpatients waiting area at University Hospital.

UHCW was chosen for the visit because of the Tissue Viability’s team excellent work raising awareness of pressure ulcer prevention in hospitals and the community.
