University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, have appointed Donna Griffiths as Chief People Officer.
Donna will be a familiar face to many at UHCW having joined the Trust in 2008 as Human Resources Manager for Surgery before working her way up to become Director of Workforce. She has started in the new role immediately following a national recruitment campaign.
The Chief People Officer position is newly created to help build on the foundations in place to support the delivery of quality patient care in our Workforce, Performance and Informatics, Transformation and Equality and Diversity functions.
Donna described her key aims in the role: "Are to continuously work to improve the experience of our staff, building on the collective spirit shown during COVID-19 and taking positive action to ensure a fair and inclusive culture across the Trust."
She will also be a key player in delivering the NHS People Plan to ensure that the organisation is continuously improving its leadership culture, being a model employer and strengthening its workforce operating model.
Other key focus areas include continuing the Trusts impressive UHCWi journey, building on its reputation of utilising informatics to drive performance and putting staff first through thier health and wellbeing offering so they can put patients first.
Professor Andy Hardy, Chief Executive Officer, said: "Donna's passion for people and ensuring they are at the heart of our decision making process is a huge asset to the Trust."

Booking an appointment helps patients, their carers and family members to plan their hospital visit better, helping to reduce clinic waiting times and enabling patients to be seen much more quickly.

Referrals for blood tests can be from GP's, practice nurses or from hospital consultants. Patients are also able to leave other samples, such as urine, which have been collected at home, at the hospital's Pathology Reception.
