UHCW staff go the extra mile at the Coventry Half Marathon

With the sun shining, 56 runners donned UHCW Charity running vests and ran up and down the hills of Coventry to raise funds for University Hospital.

Competition was fierce, with over 3200 runners coming from across the UK and beyond, including the Regan sisters from Missouri and Coventry who ran because their father is being looked after so well on our renal ward.

Paula Lloyd-Knight (below) enjoyed the event so much that she has already signed up for next year.

Leading the impressive Physio Team was Howard Bush, who ran the distance in an astonishingly fast 1hour 23mins 14 seconds, coming 57th out of the 3215 who took part.

Over £6,000 has been raised so far, on top of the funds raised last year after the event was cancelled the day before due to snow.
