UHCW welcomes Nina Fraser as new Chief Nursing Officer

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) are pleased to announce their new Interim Chief Nursing Officer, Nina Fraser.

Nina will join for six months from November 28, and will replace Professor Mark Radford who has left the role to become National Director of Nursing for Improvement at NHS Improvement.

Nina is a registered nurse, having specialised in oncology and palliative care and worked in acute hospital and voluntary sector settings.

She has been the Director of Nursing and Patient Services at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust since April 2013 and has led a number of quality improvements across the Trust.

Prior to that she had experience leading clinical governance at Northampton General Hospital and for three years worked as the Executive Nurse Director at Shetland Health Board, an integrated primary care, community services and acute care board.

Nina said: “I am really pleased to be joining UHCW. To be able to use my skills at a Trust of this size is a real privilege and a challenge which I relish.”

Chief Executive Officer, Andy Hardy, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Mark for his contributions to the Trust.

“I am really looking forward to working with Nina and feel that her experience and enthusiasm will be a huge benefit to the staff at UHCW and patients in Coventry and Warwickshire.”

Adverts for the permanent Chief Nursing Officer role will be out in the New Year.
