University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust achieves second Pathway to Excellence® designation

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust has become the first university teaching hospital in the country to achieve Pathway to Excellence® re-designation, securing its second designation for a further four years through to 2030.

Pathway to Excellence® is an internationally recognised kitemark of distinction, recognising organisations where Nurses, Midwives and interprofessional teams have a strong voice, are empowered to influence practice and drive excellence in care.

Achieving re-designation reflects the commitment, professionalism and contribution of teams across UHCW, alongside the Trust’s ongoing focus on improving care, supporting its people and creating an environment where colleagues can influence and shape practice; in keeping with the commitment that ‘better never stops’.

Professor Tracey Brigstock, Chief Nursing Officer at UHCW NHS Trust, said: “I am incredibly proud to work alongside such dedicated and talented colleagues.

The re-designation process brought together evidence from across the Trust, including colleagues’ experiences and feedback, case studies from practice and examples demonstrating professional excellence and the impact of Nursing and Midwifery-led practice.
