1 June 2022
We are pleased to be restoring visiting arrangements to above pre-pandemic levels at both University Hospital, Coventry, and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.
From Thursday 2nd June, the current one-hour maximum visiting time will be removed and visiting times in the afternoon are being reintroduced as detailed below.
Two visitors per patient will be allowed between the following times each day:
University Hospital
6pm to 8pm on weekdays; 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at weekends and bank holidays.
Hospital of St Cross
2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm, seven days a week.
Please note there are some exceptions for Maternity, Paediatrics, the Arden Centre, Ward 34 at University Hospital, the Emergency Department and our Urgent Treatment Centres. Full details can be found here.
Tracey Brigstock, Chief Nursing Officer at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to be able to fully reinstate visiting and open it up to levels beyond where we were before the Covid-19 pandemic.
“There’s nothing like a personal visit to give our patients a boost and we know how important human contact is while people are in hospital.
“We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while necessary restrictions have been in place and would ask visitors to continue to follow our infection prevention guidance to keep staff and patients safe.”
Please do not attend our sites if you or a member of your household feels unwell, have Covid-19 symptoms or a Covid-19 positive test result. All visitors are still required to wear face masks when visiting either hospital.
All visiting arrangements remain under constant review to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Outside of visiting hours, friends and relatives can contact patients through personal communication devices and call the ward directly if they need information. Visiting on compassionate grounds also remains in place at our hospitals.
If you are unable to visit, please speak to the ward staff who can arrange to pass on a message. All ward contact details can be found here. You can also take advantage of our Thinking of You service to keep in touch.
