Integrated Care - Earlier diagnostic tests closer to home in Coventry

A new health facility in Coventry city centre will improve population health by diagnosing health conditions earlier, faster and more accurately. The Coventry Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) will offer additional capacity for testing in the community allowing us to identify health problems early. The facility will mean UHCW can tackle high rates of premature mortality from cardiovascular disease, cancer and respiratory disease that exist in our local population. The new facility will also provide a wide range of diagnostic imaging technology, heart and lung tests. The new CDC will open in early 2025. The centre will deliver an additional 17,000 MRI scans, 34,000 CT scans and 11,500 Ultrasound scans.

Patient access to vital diagnostic services to be drastically improved as part of new Community Diagnostic Centre programme in Coventry and Warwickshire - University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (uhcw.nhs.uk)

Building better health together

Our organisational strategy 2022-2030 sets out the next part of the journey for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Ahead of the publication of the strategy, we sought the views of our staff, the people using our services and the organisations that we work alongside – to ask what they liked and didn’t like about our proposed direction of travel for the next eight years.
