Integrated Care - Expanding and redesigning our Emergency Department in Coventry

One of the busiest Emergency Departments in the country has been granted £15 million from the Government to increase its capacity and further enhance patient care. The A&E department at University Hospital in Coventry welcomes around 150,000 patients per year and serves a catchment area of more than a million people. The unit will be expanded with additional treatment cubicles, a new Minor Illness and Injuries Unit and enlarging the waiting room in the Children’s Emergency Department. The improvements will ensure the unit is able to meet the projected demographic growth in this area.

Building better health together

Our organisational strategy 2022-2030 sets out the next part of the journey for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Ahead of the publication of the strategy, we sought the views of our staff, the people using our services and the organisations that we work alongside – to ask what they liked and didn’t like about our proposed direction of travel for the next eight years.
