Integrated Care - Treating muscle and joint aches and pains closer to home

The new service brings together elements from primary care, community and hospital services to improve access to services and help patients better manage their conditions. MSK conditions place a high demand on primary, community and hospital services, making up 20% of all GP appointments. Approximately 30% of people referred to hospital to see a specialist come away with no outcome, and are often discharged back to their GP.

The Coventry Integrated MSK pathway offers patients faster assessment and diagnosis with access to a specialist physiotherapist in a GP practice, ensuring they receive the right care, in the right place at the right time.

Building better health together

Our organisational strategy 2022-2030 sets out the next part of the journey for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Ahead of the publication of the strategy, we sought the views of our staff, the people using our services and the organisations that we work alongside – to ask what they liked and didn’t like about our proposed direction of travel for the next eight years.
