Please help us celebrate the staff and volunteers at UHCW at our annual employee awards.
It has been, and will continue to be, a challenging year for everyone in the healthcare industry. We are incredibly proud of our colleagues for playing their part in keeping our hospitals running every single day.
Our Outstanding Service and Care Awards (OSCAs), sponsored by the UHCW Charity, are your chance to say thank you to teams and individuals for their exceptional care.
This year there are currently 10 categories open for public nominations, including the new People’s Choice Award:
This award will recognise any member of staff, new to the Trust or to their role, who has made an outstanding impression on care and service. It will reflect their ability to embrace learning and dedication to personal improvement as well as contributing to improvements throughout the organisation.
This award recognises those that have been an inspiring coach, mentor, peer or teacher to an individual or a team.
Specifically for non-clinical staff; this award is open to nominations for a team or individual that provide a crucial core service and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work.
Specifically for those delivering care, this award reflects the excellent care and compassion which is provided to patients every single day. Nominations will highlight where healthcare staff have gone above and beyond their usual duty of care to deliver world class care which has made a huge difference to lives of patients.
This award celebrates selfless individuals who act with openness, honesty and integrity. Nominees will have led their team or department or subject to deliver success in providing care or services which have made a difference over the past year.
This award is to recognise teams or individuals whose innovations and ideas have led to improvements in patient care and safety.
This award recognises an individual or team who have demonstrated inclusion in their work and/or service or supported work that reduces health inequalities.
Open to volunteers for either University Hospital Voluntary Services, the Friends of St Cross, UHCW Charity or Rugby/Coventry Hospital Radio, who give their time for free and provides fantastic support to patients and staff.
Patients and members of the public can show their appreciation for members of staff and volunteers or teams providing exceptional care and service. This award is solely for the public to nominate in, and highlights examples of excellent patient care and experiences.
This final award is for an outstanding individual or team that demonstrates all our Trust values in everything that they do. The winners will be selected by our Chief Executive Officer, Professor Andy Hardy.
We want to hear about exceptional individuals and teams at UHCW who live and breathe the Trust’s values of Compassion, Openness, Improve, Respect, Partnership, Pride and Learn.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON BLOOD TESTING DUE TO COVID-19
Shielding Patients in very high risk for COVID Group
All people who have been identified as very high risk (requiring shielding) for COVID are in the process of being contacted by their clinician regarding their ongoing care. If you require a blood test whilst shielding as part of your care, appointment details including when and where your blood test will be carried out will be sent to you via a text message from SwiftQueue who manage our blood test bookings.
If you have regular blood tests and have been asked to have these, please ensure you have blood forms at home available; if you haven’t please contact your specialty to have some sent to you in advance of your blood tests.
Older People and Vulnerable Adults
People who are in the groups identified by the government as higher risk e.g are over 70 or receive a yearly flu jab, but are not in the very high risk (requiring shielding) group, can attend our normal blood test clinics.
