Chief Executive Officer Team Award

Chosen by our Chief Executive Officer, Professor Andy Hardy, this award celebrates a team that has gone above and beyond to support our vision of becoming a national and international leader in healthcare, rooted in our communities. The winning team will live our values every day – showing compassion, being open, always learning, taking pride in their work, striving to improve, treating others with respect, and working in partnership.

Leading the Way Award

Do you know someone who leads by example and always looks for ways to make things better? This award recognises someone who constantly shares ideas, tests new approaches and works with others to improve services, processes or care quality. They create positive and supportive spaces where colleagues can grow. Please include in your nomination examples of changes they've made, and how their actions have made a real difference.

UHCWi Improvement Award

Our UHCWi methodology supports colleagues in making continuous improvements with the focus on putting patients first. This award is dedicated to individuals or teams who have used UHCWi to make key developments and changes within their department or service. Nominations should outline how staff have been engaged in the use of management system tools to instill new ways of working that enhance care for patients and/or improved experiences for colleagues, sharing what the impact of these changes has been, and the value added, or waste removed.

Research and Innovation Award

Research and Innovation are at the heart of our Organisational Strategy. This award celebrates work that address healthcare challenges through innovative ideas, research, or creative solutions, including the application of technology. It recognises individuals or teams whose efforts have led or are contributing to better treatments and outcomes, making a lasting impact. Do you know someone whose new ideas, or whose use of technology, has made a real difference in patient, staff or service outcomes? Or someone who has shown compassion and commitment to patient care through research or innovation?

Delivering Care Award

This award recognises members of Team UHCW who go above and beyond to provide outstanding care. Please share examples of how they've made a real difference to patients through their skills, compassion and dedication. Let us know how their work supports our strategy – such as addressing health inequalities or working closely with local communities.

Supporting the Delivery of Care Award

This award is designed for individuals or teams in non-patient-facing or behind-the-scenes roles who help make high-quality care possible. These are often the unsung heroes who keep everything running smoothly. Tell us how they've helped support providing the best possible care our communities and support the Trust to work more efficiently, whether that be clinically, financially or environmentally.

Rising Star Award

Have you noticed someone new who's already making a big impact? This award is for someone who joined the Trust or started a new role in the last 12 months and is already making a difference to patients, services or staff. Show us how they've embraced learning, brought fresh ideas, living our values and made things better.

Compassion in Action Award

This award showcases individuals or teams who listen with care, treat everyone with kindness and respect and value inclusion and diversity in all they do. They show compassion to patients and colleagues alike, helping to create a welcoming, supportive environment for all. Please tell us how they show compassion every day and how they're helping to make the Trust a better place to work and receive care.

Volunteers’ Award

This award recognises the amazing contribution of our volunteers, including those in Voluntary Services, the Friends of St Cross, and Coventry or Rugby Hospital Radio. Let us know how their time and dedication have helped make things better for patients and our Trust.

Partnership Award (ISS)

The ISS Partnership Award is for an individual or teams that has demonstrated exceptional collaboration and cooperation to bring benefit to patients, staff or visitors to the hospital. This award is to honour the value and impact of ISS staff working with UHCW colleagues together toward shared goals.

Partnership Award (Mitie)

This award recognises outstanding partnerships that have made a tangible difference to the delivery of NHS services. It celebrates collaborations between UHCW and Mitie that demonstrate innovation, mutual benefit and improved outcomes for patients and staff. Successful entries will showcase how effective partnership working has led to meaningful improvements in care quality, patient experience, workforce support, or operational efficiency. Judges will be looking for clear evidence of joint working and measurable impact.

Volunteers’ Award

People’s Choice Award

This award is for patients and members of the public to say thank you. It recognises individuals or teams who have made a real difference to your care, whether in hospital or in the community. Please share how the member of staff/team have made a difference to the patient experience and tell us how they've showed compassion, dedication, or helped you in a way you'll never forget.
