Annual Report

Our annual report covers a 12 month period and includes financial information plus a summary of our achievements from April one year to March the next.

The report also outlines our ongoing and planned developments and objectives for the year ahead.

Annual Report 2021/22

Annual audit

An Auditor Panel established by our Trust Board recommended the appointment of KPMG LLP as external auditors to the Trust until 2025, and this was approved on 2 December 2021.

The final opinion on the financial statements issued by our external auditors can be found in the annual report and accounts, while their letter is attached here.

Quality Account

The Quality Account is an annual report that summarises how the Trust is working to improve the quality of its services, the progress we have made and our priorities for the coming year.

For 2020/2021 the Board has decided that our quality improvement priorities are:

Category Quality Priority
Patient Safety The Trust will improve Multi-Disciplinary Team communication with patients on all adult inpatient wards.
Clinical Effectiveness The Trust will ensure it delivers high standard infection control practice and procedures delivered through active campaigns, staff training and education and patient and carer engagement while also adhering to all national COVID-19 guidance.
Patient Experience The Trust will work in partnership with patients and carers in planning adult patient discharges from hospital.

Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Annual Report

UHCW works hard to ensure that infections are kept to a minimum. As part of this work, the Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) produces an annual report on the work that has been done within the Trust to prevent infections in our hospitals.This report is presented to and approved by Trust Board.
