Delivering your care
Rheumatology clinics at UHCW take place at University Hospital, Coventry, and at Hospital of St Cross, Rugby. Day case treatments are provided by the Rheumatology Day Unit, based at the rear of clinic six at University Hospital.
There is a dedicated on-call rheumatology consultant to cover emergency and out of hours care, supported by rheumatology junior doctors. Many biologic therapies are now delivered to patients at home by a variety of home care companies, co-ordinated by our pharmacy homecare team.
How to access our services
If your GP feels that you need to see a rheumatologist, they will send a referral to us via the choose and book service. All referrals are triaged and prioritised by a consultant to ensure your appointment is made in the appropriate clinic. We have specialised urgent clinics for early inflammatory arthritis and a fast track service for suspected giant cell arteritis.
