    I was appointed in 2008 to set up and lead the Cardiac Rhythm Management (EP and Devices) service at UHCW. I was appointed honorary Professor of Cardiology with University of Warwick (Warwick Medical School) in 2018 and have recently been appointed Director of the Cardio-Metabolic Research Institute at UHCW.

    I have several research interests in the field of arrhythmia, including CRT response, sudden cardiac death risk prediction, sleep apnoea, AF ablation and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; the latter also involves collaborations with leading scientists at University of Warwick. I have published extensively in the field of arrhythmia and have successfully supervised/am supervising five PhD cardiology research fellows. I have been awarded several large research grants from the British Heart Foundation, Medtronic Ltd, Abbott Medical, Boston Scientific and Bristol Myers Squibb.

    I am an expert speaker in the field of arrhythmia at national and international meetings and have published several high-profile research papers.

  • Special Interests:
    All aspects of Cardiac Electrophysiology and ablation, atrial fibrillation, SVT, atrial flutter/tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, complex device implants (ICD, CRT), bradycardia pacemaker implants, leadless pacemaker implants and device extractions.
