Patient Portal: myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire

myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire is UHCW’s patient portal – a digital platform that will allow you to access information about your upcoming appointments and view clinical letters and selected blood test results.

When you are scheduled a new outpatient appointment, we will automatically send you a text message inviting you to join the patient portal - please click on the secure link and follow the instructions as prompted.

Using the patient portal will put you more in control of your own care. You will have 24/7 access to view your clinical letters, scheduled appointments and selected blood test results, with further functionality (including the ability to cancel, reschedule or request appointments for selected services) to be added during 2025.


What is myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire?

A secure and confidential online system for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust that allows patients 16 and over to view clinical letters, scheduled appointments and test results.

How do I access myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire?

When you are scheduled a new outpatient appointment, we will automatically send you a text message inviting you to join the patient portal — please click on the secure link and follow the instructions as prompted. You’ll need to provide an email address and set up a secure password.

How do I complete my registration once I have received a text message?

Open the text message, select the invite link contained within and complete your details. You will then receive an SMS message containing a five-digit code.

If you do not receive a code, you can request another code by selecting the button labelled “I did not receive a code”. Then, provide your consent to access your care information at myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire.

Can I access my GP record or other hospital records?

No. Only appointments booked by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust can be viewed on the system. Patients can access their primary care records and other health information via the NHS app.

Is the patient portal the same as the NHS App?

The NHS App is different to our patient portal, but the two work together. Think of the NHS app as the front door to all of your NHS information. For us, our patient portal is what's behind it. The NHS App contains loads of useful information and capabilities for managing your care with your GP. To read more about the NHS App, visit the NHS website here.

Can I change/cancel my appointments using the portal? 

Appointments (and associated letters) will be available to read-only for the time being. During 2025 you may be able to request, change or cancel appointments for select services using myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire.

Can I opt-out from receiving text messages to register for the patient portal?

Yes. The text message provides the option to stop receiving any further messages. You can also opt-out from receiving messages once you are logged into myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire, but then you will not receive notifications.

What software is needed?

myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire can be accessed using your web browser. If you have trouble viewing it, you might need to get an updated version of your web browser. A PDF reader is needed to view some of the documents.

Although you can change the phone number you have stored in myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire, this will not update the phone number included in your care record. In order to change this, you will need to contact your care team. It’s important that we have the right phone number for you so that we can reach you when we need to.

As long as you don’t share your login details or password for myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire, and provided you are not sharing your device or email address, only you will be able to see the information in your care record.

The two-step authentication process provides extra security. It’s the same technology that might be used when you access online banking.

If you access myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire through a web browser, look for the padlock in the browser bar for reassurance that your connection is secure.

Any text messages or emails you receive from the patient portal will be clearly labelled, so you’ll know they’re coming from University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

If you choose to download documents from myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire to your own device, it will be your responsibility to make sure the information remains secure.

When you receive the text message inviting you to register for the patient portal, follow the link provided to complete the process. You’ll need to provide an email address and set up a secure password.

Two-step authentication is required, which means you’ll receive another text message containing a five-digit code. Your registration for myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire can be completed when you enter this code.

You can register to use the patient portal from a smartphone, tablet or on a desktop computer or laptop. You can also register using your NHS number.

When there is information waiting for you in the patient portal, you’ll receive a text message prompting you to log in. You’ll also receive an email that explains there is an update for you to view, with a link that will take you to the login screen.

If you forget your password for myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire, you can re-set it by selecting ‘Forgot password?’ on the login screen. You’ll receive an email and a link that will allow you to create a new password.

If you forget your email address, you will need to provide further information to confirm your identity before your access to the patient portal can be restored.

Should you experience difficulty using myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire, visit the Help Centre, linked at the bottom of the login screen. You won’t need to be logged into the patient portal to access this.

myhealth Coventry and Warwickshire can be used by patients aged 16 and over.

The patient portal is for your use only, so you’ll need your own email address and a mobile phone, tablet or other device that is not shared.
